There are many places to enjoy the ocean in this northern municipality: coves covered with volcanic sand, the Lago Martiánez ocean pool complex, Playa Jardín and Punta Brava. Another favourite spot was created by the artist César Manrique, who integrated design and nature at Costa Martiánez to produce a unique and beautiful whole. And finally, other visits to remember are the Jardín Botánico (Botanic Garden) which displays plant species from the five continents and the Loro Parque, which is a zoo specialising in tropical birds.
